The design of the new town spa is situated behind the Opavice River, which is a symbolic border between the town and the recreational area. We are therefore considering architecture that fits well into the landscape and embodies a pleasant human scale.
The undulating slats of the façade refer to the motif of rippled water surface and thus give the visitor a hint of what is happening inside the building from afar.
Between the two main pools is a mass of glass blocks - the so-called skybox, which houses a gym, a washroom and the lifeguard station. The glass-concrete walls let in light only to a certain extent, allowing the spaces to be visually connected without disturbing the intimacy of the people in the skybox.
The main entrance from the river opens to pedestrians and cyclists, turning away from the busy parking area. This position will offer an easy connection to the existing swimming pool and will easily link the spa to the proposed hotel in the future.
