The calm mass of the original building in contrast with the airy tower of the extension forms a new landmark near the thoroughfare entering Brno. The shape of the main volume, which is based on the dimensions of the original building, is broken up by aside-jumping floors. Thanks to this solution, pleasant terraces covered with vegetation with beautiful views of the centre of Brno and the Pálava region are created.
The original building is likened to a dignified lady behind which a newly-created young lady peeks out. She has respect for her older and more experienced colleague but at the same time, with a light dose of sass, she is bursting into the light with fresh new energy.
The building assemblage responds and relates seamlessly to the lively public space in the vicinity. Connecting the two towers by a skywalk increases the lettable area and also allows for a collective reception, which plays to the economic aspect of the project.
